Ludlow Elementary Classroom Visit

Right before Spring Break, Little Known Help Zone will be donating to Ludlow Elementary school as part of our monthly classroom project. This has been in motion since March, for our March school, and is finally coming to fruition this April.

Ludlow is located in Old Kensington, Philadelphia, and is a Philadelphia School District Public School. Ludlower serves approximately 400 students in grades Pre-K through 8th grade.  Seventy two percent of Ludlow students are African American, twenty one percent are Latino, two percent is Asian, one percent Caucasian, and four percent are multicultural. Twenty seven percent of our students receive special education services.

This was a great school for LKHZ, and we are donating to not 1, but three classrooms! This includes a 5th grade, 3rd grade, and 2nd grade class! Some items include pencils, notebooks, craft supplies, and cleaning supplies. These are essential for the school’s success, and many people often forget that even near the end of the year, classroom supplies is needed.

Stay tuned for photos and information about the visit next week!

New Etsy Jewelry

Have you been shopping on our Etsy site yet? It has a lot of great items like our key of hope necklaces, sea glass rings, cherry blossom kits, and more!

Just added to the site is a beautiful rose emblem cuff bracelet. This was inspired by my education at Bryn Mawr College and one phrase we use often, “Give Us Bread But Give Us Roses.”

This means that we want the necessities, but the beauty, and I think this message sums up my organization well.

This bracelet has the silver charm, a looped chain, and a red accent bead by the lobster claw. It is a beauty, and I hope someone enjoys this soon. As always, all the money goes towards Little Known Help Zone’s mission of the monthly classroom project.

Monthly Classroom Project Visits- January and February

Sometimes, the weather just gets int he way of plans, which is why this Friday was a monthly classroom project visit extravaganza, going to two schools, seven classrooms, and bringing over $500 worth of supplies and 130 Valentines!

First on the agenda was Mosser Elementary School in Allentown, PA. This was on the East Side of Allentown, and I donated to 4 different classrooms. This included a first grade room, kindergarten class, and 2 learning support classes. This was all new teachers, and was a great visit. They all also got a copy of Color Creates a Brighter Future.

Then, I went to Central Elementary School in Allentown, and donated to three more classrooms in first, third, and fourth grade!

Visit to Washington Elementary

On Wednesday, October 18th, we visited Washington Elementary in Allentown.

First, Makenna spent time with Ms. Emert’s classroom, reading Wonder to the students and making candy corn man crafts. This was August’s Classroom Donation.

Next, she delivered $75 of donations to Ms. Sprang’s 2nd grade classroom, September’s Classroom Donation.

Finally, she delivered $75 of supplies to Ms. Huff’s 2nd grade classroom and read The Little Old Lady that Wasn’t Scared of Anything. This was October’s Classroom Donation.

It was a wonderful time spreading supplies and assisting these classrooms while having fun!
