Spring Semester 2017 Accomplishments

The Little Known Help Zone Spring 2017 semester was a busy and successful one here at Bryn Mawr College. We had some great events, and here is a round up of the accomplishments of the club this semester.

-Hosted a Guatemalan Tea Study Hour around midterms to provide a relaxing environment and introduce students to the tea of the Chirepeco cooperative, one organization we are supporting.

Candy Gram Fundraiser and Club Party

To end the semester of our labor rights advocating, Little Known Help Zone sold candy grams for May Day that were delivered in people’s mailboxes. The chocolate we sold was fair trade and organic and also benefited endangered animals. We made over $50 that will be donated to ORMUSA, a women’s labor rights organization in El Salvador.

To put together the candygrams, we had an end of the year party to celebrate our accomplishments with some chinese food.

We hope to have more successful fundraisers in the following semesters to continue to contribute to human rights causes in Central America.
