Little Known Help Zone’s most recent project involves the Costa Rican Jaguar Rescue Center, an animal refuge centered in Puerto Viejo that takes care of injured and orphaned animals and makes effort to rehabilitate them back into the wild . For my 16th birthday, I will be visiting Costa Rica and volunteering at the refuge for a portion of my trip. The reserve is in need of some supplies, so Little Known Help Zone has made it their goal to collect this supplies to deliver on the trip. Needs include fleece blankets, electric blankets, powdered goats milk, and medications.
After minimal success with attempts to collect donations, a wonderful surprise came in the mail. Northeast Fleece, a fleece company based in Massachusetts, sent a package of 6 fleece blankets after I sent an email to their headquarters. These blankets are needed for the young animals of the refuge who have the potential of getting hypothermia since they no longer have the warmth of their mothers. The fleece blankets provide warmth and comfort. This donation will make all the difference for the refuge.
