Education Donation Update

One of the students Little Known Help Zone sponsored, Claudia Maria, has decided to graduate early from high school and get a job to help support her family, which is currently struggling with an income of $11 a day. As much as it would be beautiful to see Claudia continue with University, it is a huge success to see Claudia be the first in her family and we are all very proud.

This means the student sponsorship needed to be transferred to someone else. Little Known Help Zone chose the last high school student in need of sponsorship, Anibal Oswaldo

Anibal Osvaldo is in 10th grade in 2015. He enjoys accounting class and likes playing soccer. His parents, Victor and Evangelina, work hard to give their children the opportunities they themselves didn’t have. Anibal has one brother and two sisters.200

The Donation Is In- Two Girls Are Going to School in Guatemala

After over a year of hard work and the generosity of the KTI 2015 Family, a longtime goal has been achieved. Not one, but two girls in Guatemala are now set to go to school for a year. Little Known Help Zone is officially the sponsor of Claudia Marina and Brenda Yohana, two 11th grade girls. Read the last post to find out more about their interest and background https://littleknownhelpzone.wordpress.com/2015/08/17/sponsoring-high-school-education-in-guatemala/

This is just the beginning, as hopefully more money can be raised to continue sponsoring children. In a perfect world, every child will be able to go to school. Let’s make this a perfect world.

This is such a heartwarming experience, and I can’t wait to see what comes in the future.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible.

Sponsoring High School Education in Guatemala

A long time goal of Little Known Help Zone was to send children to school, now this is a reality. After raising $801 at the KTI Summit, it seemed only fitting to put that money to good use and send children abroad to school. Education is vital in the United States, and we are lucky to so openly receive it. Abroad, this is a rarity.

Mayan children in Guatemala barely make it past 6th grade, girls being the more disadvantaged of the bunch. If a girl makes it past elementary school, she is an outlier. That is why it is so important we send all kids to school.

I chose 2 children to be sponsored for the 2015 year, $360 will cover them for a year. Both of these students are girls in high school. Here are their bios and photos. By next week, the sponsorship money will be donated, and all of the high school students will be at school through Mayan Families!

Claudia Marina

Claudia Marina is in 11th grade in 2015. She lives with her parents and four siblings in a two-room home. Her father works as a gardener and her mother works selling tortillas, but they do not earn much money, since neither attended school beyond the 6th grade.  200

Brenda Yohana

Brenda Yohana, was born on December 27, 1996. She is now in 11th grade in 2015 and her favorite class is art. In her free time she enjoys playing soccer. Although her parents were unable to attend school beyond the 3rd grade, Brenda hopes to continue to get a higher education, and is already an example for her younger and older siblings, being the first of the family to make to 11th grade!200-1

Stay tuned for when the donation goes through.

Fundraiser Cause #2- Guatemala

The next cause that Little Known Help Zone will be raising money for is Mayan Families in Guatemala.

Specifically, we will be raising money to send a Guatemalan child to school for a year. For $360, a child can attend school for one year and further their education to move on in life and support their families.

Little Known Help Zone will be selling erasers and pencil toppers at $1 a piece to benefit these students, and hopefully enough money will be raised to send a child to school! Stay tuned for more!

The Christmas Gift Extravaganza

Christmas is a wonderful time, and Little Known Help Zone is happy to announce that they’ve donated over $4000 worth of Christmas to the Hogar de Amor Children’s home in La Ceiba, Honduras. Months worth of love and effort have been put into this project and it is finally complete.

Here’s a little bit of information about the gifts..

Every child received a backpack filled with wrapped presents. gifts included remote control cars, sports supplies, school supplies, toys, games, makeup, candy, and other items that were on the children’s wish list.  Many nights were spent wrapping the presents and sorting the items amongst the children to ensure an equal distribution of wondrous items!

This project was made possible by…

  • Bixbee Backpacks
  • Alex and Isabelle Hair Ties
  • Just Born Candy
  • Essence Cosmetics
  • Streetline Inc.
  • DIP Shipping
  • And many other generous sponsors

Little Known Help Zone extends its fullest thanks to all the generous sponsors who made this project possible, we couldn’t have done it without you!

The presents are officially on their way!  Shipping was a bit of an issue, but after discovering a company known as DIP Shipping, the $3,000 rates decreased to $400. Thanks to a very special angel, the shipping was made possible and I find it a true blessing this final obstacle was tackled. The presents are on their way and should reach the orphanage within days.

Here is a photo of the children holding a picture of me with the presents! You can see everyone is joyous, as they enjoyed a delightful Christmas day.
