Little Known Help Zone Western Salisbury Fall Fest Fundraiser Success!

Last night was thoroughly successful, and Little Known Help Zone is so excited to share the results.

The table set up was great and brought in a lot of attention.

Many people were interested in the items being sold and the work I was doing.

The bracelets were a popular item amongst adults and children, and the kids loved the crayons!

Little Known Help Zone Takes On Guatemala

Another project is in the works and this is a big one!

After much research, Little Known Help Zone has decided to start working in Guatemala. Guatemala is the most impoverished country in Central America. This poverty is coupled with high crime and abuse rates. 7/10 children are abused, and 98% of crimes against women and children go unpunished. There is a need, and Little Known Help Zone is going to meet it.

This project is going to be large scale and multifaceted.

First, Little Known Help Zone is going to work to formulate a scholarship to award to someone who otherwise was denied education. Hopefully, this scholarship will be through an online college and awarded to one person a year. In the start up phase, Little Known Help Zone has found many organizations it can go through to find award winners, but in the future this will be awarded to people in Little Known Help Zone’s other ventures in Guatemala.

Simultaneously, Little Known Help Zone wants to find an outlet to create jobs in Guatemala for people who unfortunately cannot work, hopefully in the form of a sustainable factory. This factory will be focused towards women who want to get away from abusive husbands and support their families, or just anyone who wants to be self supporting. Eventually, scholarships will be awarded to workers then, so more skills can be learned and these people can break away from poverty. The goods from this factory will go to fund costs mainly, and also support the next step, youth education.

Little Known Help Zone then wants to build a school in Guatemala for children to attend. This will be a free school accessible to anyone. Over time we will work to make the school available to more and more children.

Finally, Little Known Help Zone will work to build a domestic violence shelter to provide a temporary place to stay for women and children as they recuperate and organize.

Although it will take many years and vast amounts of funds to accomplish, these 4 pieces will work together harmoniously to educate, provide income, and sustain. These 4 sources will allow the people of Guatemala to become self sustaining and break away the chins they’ve been living under to thrive.
