Bryn Mawr Staff Association Craft Fair

On Wednesday, December 6th, LKHZ participated (for the third year in a row) at the Bryn Mawr Staff Association Holiday Craft Fair!

This was a wonderful event with many vendors, and LKHZ sold our items to raise money for our monthly classroom project. Items included crayons and cacti among other LKHZ favs.

This was a successful event raising over $100 for the project!

Thank you to all who helped and shopped, we’ll see you again next year!

Bryn Mawr Staff Association Craft Fair 2017

For the third year in a row, Little Known Help Zone will have a table set up at the Bryn Mawr Staff Association Craft Fair! This is a wonderful holiday craft fair with great vendors, a lot of whom are giving back. Stop by and support to help fund our classroom a month project! There will be some new and special items for sale this day!

This event is December 6th from 10am-2pm in the Great Hall at Bryn Mawr College.

Little Known Help Zone Thankful Banner

Tis the season for gratitude. Little Known Help Zone knows it is the season for giving and reflection as well. To get the word out on campus about what we do, as well as inspire reflection, we made a fabric banner asking students what they are thankful for. They are invited to write on the banner and share. This will be up for a week in the campus center and we can’t wait to report back and share some responses!

Little Known Help Zone Yoga Event

On Wednesday, September 27th Little Known Help Zone Bryn Mawr held our first event, a yoga fundraiser.

Prior to that, we sold raffle tickets for a gift card to Mom’s Organic Market and raised $50.

The event was an hour long yoga class taught by BMC Alum Alexandra Seits and had delicious snacks afterwards! The event was a success, and even though the outdoor component was rained out, we held it inside and it was an enjoyable day.

Little Known Help Zone BMC Bake Sale

The Little Known Help Zone Bryn Mawr club just completed its first fundraiser!

The preorder bake sale was a success, raising $41 and getting the club’s name out to the entire student body and beyond. For 5 hours, club members worked hard to bake birthday cake cookies and brownies for those who ordered in advance. There were obstacles, but in the end everything worked out perfectly. The extras were sold to student body members who may have not had a chance to submit orders.

This was a wonderful way to start off the club, and now we are hard at work planning our next fundraiser!1558403_963135983771139_6655577995670732343_n.jpg

Bryn Mawr Club

The newest addition to the Little Known Help Zone network is going to be a club formed at Bryn Mawr College. This club will be a coalition of student body members all dedicated to the cause of helping others in Central America. This club will work to raise awareness to the community while raising money to help those abroad.

Here are some of the ideas brainstormed so far for the club’s events of the 2015-2016 year, with many more to come once the club gets together and collaborates!

  • Planning communication and developing monetary goals to raise for the funds
  • Tax certifying Little Known Help Zone
  • Having a $10 fundraising competition
  • Selling gifts in jars
  • Having a Bake Sale
  • Blind Book Dates fundraiser
  • Yoga Fundraiser
  • Shirts
  • Manicure for a Good Cause
  • Etsy Collaboration

The ultimate hope for this club is to establish a branch at Bryn Mawr to help Little Known Help Zone in all the years to come!

Fundraiser Cause #2- Guatemala

The next cause that Little Known Help Zone will be raising money for is Mayan Families in Guatemala.

Specifically, we will be raising money to send a Guatemalan child to school for a year. For $360, a child can attend school for one year and further their education to move on in life and support their families.

Little Known Help Zone will be selling erasers and pencil toppers at $1 a piece to benefit these students, and hopefully enough money will be raised to send a child to school! Stay tuned for more!
