Donation to Animal Foodbank of Lehigh Valley

We’ve been working hard to support our community during this Covid-19 Crisis, and our furry friends are no exception. When life gets hard, feeding every mouth becomes stressful, especially our pets. Rather than take pets to the shelter during stress, the Animal Foodbank of the Lehigh Valley provides pet food to anyone who needs so they can keep their loved pets healthy and happy.

Their mission?

“Our mission is to keep companion animals in loving homes and prevent their surrender to the shelter system by supplying families with pet food in times of economic distress.”

We were happy to donate to this cause and support our families and pets in Allentown! Our donation will feed more pets, and we would love to hear if you went and supported this organization as well!

We can’t wait to share more of our relief efforts with you!

Animals in Distress

top-left[1]After a delightful trip to Costa Rica, I sent a thank you to Petmeds for the donations and was pleasantly surprised. They offered to send more donation boxes for me to give out. This time, I wanted to focus on my own community, so after researching, I chose the delightful Animals in Distress.

Animals in Distress is a local pet sanctuary that keeps every animal received, provides medical care and love, and also works on finding these pets homes. This is a no-kill shelter, which is one of the main reasons I chose them. I respect their mission quite much, and this place is an area of love and happiness. The sanctuary is spacious and bright, the animals are in a great place with loving volunteers and spacious rooms. Certain animals, such as Spook, who is paralyzed, have special accommodations   (The Spook Mobile is adorable!)

After receiving the donations, I sorted through to organize and examine the contents. Over $500 dollars worth of supplies were sent, from medicines to treats to toys! My dad took me to AID and we were pleasantly greeted by the workers. The facility is beautiful and all of the volunteers are friendly and welcoming. They were very appreciative and we also got a tour of the cat kennel! Every single cat was beautiful and you could tell each had its own personality. One feature that truly made me happy was the spaciousness of the rooms. There were rooms for the cats that each went off into a sunnier room with bird feeders outside. Rather than be caged, they were free to roam around their room and do cat-like things. I am so happy to have been able to contribute to this wonderful organization and I can’t wait to volunteer and work with them in the future.animals-in-distress[1]

Pet Meds

One vital part of the Costa Rican refuge project is medications. The Jaguar Refuge is in need of many vital medications and other animal lifestyle supplies to maintain health and cleanliness. Out of many places to turn, I contacted 1-800-PetMeds because of my knowledge on their trustworthy service and excellent history as a company. PetMeds has been kind enough to make a donation to Little Known Help Zone of a sample box including a variety of medications, toys, and other great items for the shelter! The supplies will be delivered by me in june over my 16th birthday to the refuge. We thank 1-800-PetMeds for their kindness and generosity and will keep you updated on the latest of the project.

A little about Pet Meds. They are a licensed pet pharmacy, an award winning company, and make customers happy every day. We suggest checking them out at below!
