Bucks County Library Author Fair

Little Known Help Zone has such a fun event coming up on November 9th, the Bucks County Author Fair! We will be at Quakertown Library sharing Color Creates a Brighter Future with the local Bucks County community.

The event runs from 1-3pm at 401 West Mill Road. We will be there giving out book marks, sharing our mission for civic engagement, and selling copies of the book to raise money for our projects.

Stay tuned for more information, photos, and fun after the event, and we hope to see you there!

LKHZ’s New Initiative

When Little Known Help Zone was started, it sprang from injustice, compassion, and passion. A 14 year old girl with the drive to make a difference. Something that I always heard when I was younger was “more young kids need to do things like this.” I spoke about it too. Organizations would bring me in as a nonprofit founder and I would be this teenage figure that should inspire others.

I’m 22 now, and while my big campaigns have filled me with joy, I’m starting graduate school and a job, and I don’t have 3 hours to drive into Philly traffic and donate pencils. Instead, I want to take Little Known Help Zone to a new level, supporting kids and their service projects.

I want to sustain the way I felt and inspire others.

This will be done through Color Creates a Brighter Future, my children’s coloring book that teaches kids how to recognize inequality and make a difference in their world.

LKHZ will be reading the book different places, giving children bookmarks that are a guide to starting their own service projects, and hosting a bi-yearly grant contest to support service initiatives!

We’re excited for this new initiative, as all great things evolve to shine light in the world, LKHZ has too.

Monthly Classroom Project, My Community

Partnership with Crayon Collection

Little Known Help Zone is thrilled to announce a new initiative to support the Monthly Classroom Project, a partnership with Crayon Collection. This nonprofit fuses a commitment to the environment with art education in underfunded public schools. Through this work, they collect crayons from restaurants that are barely used and then donate them to schools.

This line of work aligns with Little Known Help Zone’s mission to empower students in their education (and our commitment to the environment with our recycled goods fundraising program).

LKHZ will be working with local restaurants in the Philadelphia and Allentown area to collect lightly used crayons and donate them to the schools we work with during the monthly classroom collaboration!

Color Creates A Brighter Future

Little Known Help Zone is so proud to announce our newest endeavor, Color Creates a Brighter Future. This is a children’s coloring book that inspires children to embark on their own service projects by teaching them how to recognize their passions and act on them to make a change in the world.

This book is available for $8 and all proceeds support Little Known Help Zone’s mission to empower children for educational success.

Monthly Classroom Project Donations

Yesterday, Little Known Help Zone visited Washington Elementary School in Allentown, PA to donate school supplies for our monthly classroom project. We brought over $500 worth of supplies to 2 classrooms.

Ms. Lovelidge is a wonderful first grade teacher who really emphasizes the arts in her class. She gives her students an outlet to be creative and express themselves, and they love it. You should see their beautiful creations!

Ms. Brennert is an English as a Second Language teacher to over 50 students! It was vital to bring her the basics so she could supply her classrooms with what they need to feel more empowered and ready in school.
