Perfect for summer, the newest piece of jewelry in the Etsy shop is a one of a kind piece you’ll want to get your hands on. This gunmetal bracelet is made with the authentic gemstone Aventurine as an accent in the center and closes with a clasp.
All money from this bracelet goes to Little Known Help Zone’s projects. Currently, LKHZ is working to start an after school arts program in gang areas of Honduras as an alternative to joining gangs. Support today!
It’s time again for Mayan Children Sponsorships so they can go to school, and Little Known Help Zone has responsored the past sponsored student Julio Cesar to continue for another year of school. This was made possible by generous donations during Bryn Mawr events and through speaking at PETE&C. For $360, Julio will attend school for another year and further his education which would otherwise be impossible.
If you remember, LKHZ has sponsored two students in the past, including Julio Cesar. The other student, Brenda, is graduating this year, but Julio still has a few years in high school to go. LKHZ also donated a bed to Julio’s family in December.
Once Julio finishes school, LKHZ will stop student sponsorships for the moment to create a more comprehensive program that is more inclusive of children in need rather than of specific students.
Looking to buy a gift or treat yourself and support a great cause? Look no further, the Little Known Help Zone Etsy shop is back up and running. There’s crayons, key necklaces, Salvadoran shell rings, tab bracelets, and other fun items perfect to buy.
The best part is, the money goes to Little Known Help Zone and supports projects. More items this summer will be listed, so make sure to keep an eye out!

This semester was the first of the Bryn Mawr Little Known Help Zone club. The main goal this semester was to spread awareness about the club on campus and gain excitement, enthusiasm, and club members.
This semester the club…
-Presented and recruited at Community Day of Learning
-Hosted a preorder bake sale, baked, and sold more goods afterwards, raising over $50
-Held a yoga ball chair raffle, raising $80 on the chair and getting people interested in the last event of the semester
-Hosted a yoga class to relieve stress before finals, and had a large turnout
-Elected members for next year
Over the summer, the club will start to plan events and write bylaws for next semester.
Bryn Mawr’s Little Known Help Zone closed out the year by voting for officers for the next school year. Having an administrative board will open us up to funding from the school and more opportunities.
Positions are as follows…
President- Makenna Lenover ’19
Vice President- Cathy Campo ’19
Treasurer- Tali Laurence ’19
Photographer- Heather Griffin ’19
Next year the club will continue and recruit more members to fill remaining positions!
